Civil engineer, loving husband and father
Albert Markowitz, 88, passed away on March 3, 2021. Albert was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and was raised in Brooklyn. He moved to Bay Terrace in Staten Island in the 1960s, then to Tottenville in the late 1970s.
He received an Associate's in Civil Engineering from Boro of Manhattan Community College. Albert worked for the New York City Department of Highways and Bridge for 34 years.He then worked for the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Government as a civil engineer writing contracts for 34 years.
Albert was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed world traveling.
He is predeceased by his son, Eric Markowitz.
Albert is survived by his wife, Joan (nee: Mazur); his daughter, Lisa Maniscalco (Jerry), and grandchildren, Jason and Jesse.
There will be a graveside service at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, N.J., on Friday at 11:30. a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Diabetes Association in Albert's name would be appreciated.
