Claudio Buono, 52, of Tottenville, a cheerful and outgoing husband and father who was active in his community, died Thursday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, of heart complications.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mr. Buono was brought to Brooklyn as a child. He had lived in Tottenville for more than 25 years.

Mr. Buono was an information technology executive and had worked for Fox 5, in both Secaucus, N.J., and Manhattan, for 25 years.

He held a bachelor's degree in computer science from the College of Staten Island and a master's degree in business management from St. Peter's College, Jersey City, N.J.

Mr. Buono was a former president of South Shore Little League and had been involved in the organization for more than 15 years. He was also a longtime member of Father's Club at Our Lady Star of the Sea school, Huguenot, and actively supported the football and lacrosse programs at Monsignor Farrell High School, Oakwood. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church.

He enjoyed golf and was an avid fan of the New York Jets and Rangers. He was also adored his dogs, Sam and Abby.

He was so funny,'' said his daughter, Kelly Buono. He always had everyone laughing. Everyone just loved him. There's no person that had a bad word to say about him.''

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Kathy; a son, Kevin; two daughters, Carlie Buono and Kelly Buono; his parents, Nobuco Buono and Caetano Buono, and his brother, Cesar Buono.

The funeral will be Monday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at noon in Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
