Visitation: Visitation Monday May 18,2015 from 7-9 PM and May 19,2015 From 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Cardell G. Arcello, of Great Kills, a retired vending machine industry supervisor and U.S. Army veteran and dedicated family man, died Saturday at home.

Born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, he graduated from William McKinley High School in his native borough.

Mr. Arcello served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era, and was stationed in Germany. He attained the rank of corporal.

He and Theresa Cunningham, who lived in nearby Bay Ridge, met in Brooklyn when they were in their early 20s and fell in love. They wed in 1957 in Regina Pacis R.C. Church and were true soulmates, family said.

Mr. Arcello was a member of Bay Ridge Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed going on family vacations and day trips with his wife and children, and spending time with his brothers. He was fond of opera, and enjoyed watching almost all sports, except soccer. He enjoyed the company of his five nephews, and took them on vacations to places like Myrtle Beach, S.C.

My father was a family person and a very good man. He loved my mother dearly, she was his soulmate, and he was always loyal to her, said his son, Cardell F.

Theresa, his wife of 45 years, died in 2002.

Mr. Arcello was a parishioner of St. John Neumann R.C. Church, Greenridge.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, both Tottenville. Entombment will follow in Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel,NJ
