Pasquale Capuano, 44, of Huguenot, a retired NYPD lieutenant, died Monday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Capuano moved to Huguenot in 2008.

Mr. Capuano worked as a city police officer, in Brooklyn, rising to the rank of lieutenant. He retired in 2010.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved sharing a meal or going to a family event with those he loved.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.

He is survived by his wife of five years, the former Danielle Triano; his son, Dominick; his daughter, Gianna Caouano; his mother, Helen Capuano, and his sister, Anne Marie Nola.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church . Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Association in Pete's name would be appreciated.

Whether you knew him for 20 years, like I did, or 20 minutes. Pete left a lasting impression on you and he only he to be himself. Truly one of the best men I've ever known or had the pleasure of working with. God bless you and your family.i will miss you bro.....
