STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Native Staten Islander Alfina Joyce Jones, 66, of Tottenville, a homemaker, died yesterday at home.

Born Alfina Lapcevic in New Dorp Beach, she moved to Liverpool, N.Y., in 1975. In 1976, she returned to the Island and settled in Tottenville.

A homemaker, Mrs. Jones worked as a model for several years at Macy’s Herald’s Square Store in Manhattan. She also worked for several years as a cosmetologist in Manhattan.

Mrs. Jones graduated from New Dorp High School and a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, New Dorp.

A member of the Staten Island Kennel Club, she and her husband enjoyed showing pure breed dogs. Mrs. Jones enjoyed arts and crafts and making decoupage pieces.

She loved caring for dog, Brandy, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

“She was really a person’s person. She just loved children, the elderly and animals,” said her husband of 40 years, Harold. “She enjoyed visiting the elderly and the sick who lived on the block, and she loved giving jewelry away. She wasn’t materialistic at all, she just loved passing things on to people. My wife just loved giving things away and putting a smile on people’s faces to make them happy.”

Along with her husband, Harold, surviving are a son, Roger; a daughter, Julie Drew-Renfro; a brother, Michael Lapcevic, and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be Friday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Burial will be Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
